Full name: Sara Jo Wurgler
Born: April 24, 1983
Became of follower of Christ: I grew up in a Christian home and was blessed to hear about Jesus from a young age. When I was 14 I made a decision to ask Jesus into my life but it wasn't until college that I started to grow and become a radical disciple for Him.
My Family: My absolutely wonderful husband Aaron works at Sanford as a physical therapy aide. My parents are Dan and Darcy Gerber. They live in Lester, Iowa where I grew up. My sister, Libby, is 22 and is employed at Sanford. My brother, Ted, is 20 and is a junior at Iowa State University. He is studying construction engineering. My youngest brother, Jon, is 19 and is a freshman at Northwestern University where he studies nursing. He also plays football for Northwestern.
School: Graduated in 2001 from West Lyon High School and graduated in 2005 from the University of South Dakota.
Favorite Movies: Pride and Prejudice, not a big movie watcher but my all-time favorite tv show is Alias
Favorite Books: My NASB Key Word Study Bible (I'm a geek) The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, The Life You've Always Wanted by John Ortberg, Abba's Child, and Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning, My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers, The Shadow of the Almighty by Elisabeth Elliot, Practicing the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence
Most life-changing experience: I lived in a large, closed country in East Asia for two years. I had the privilege to join God in what He was doing in this country as a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ. God changed my heart in so many ways over those two years and a piece of my heart will always be for this country and its people. My heart has been captured by the vision of reaching these people and equipping them to reach the nations....
