Embrace Sioux Falls podcast

F.A.Q's

Is there's a question you have... about God, life, or Embrace? We'd love to try to answer it for you.  I'll be upfront in saying that we may not have the answer, but we'll do our best.  Definitely  contact us!

When are worship services?

We gather for worship on Sunday evenings at 7pm!

What should I wear to a service?

Come completely as you are.  Blue jeans or shorts... to a business suit or khakis.  We're probably a little more causal than most but you'll fit in wearing whatever.  Although it might be a bit strange coming in shirtless or wearing a crazy Christmas sweater.

How long are services?

We do our best to keep it right at 60 minutes... not too much shorter and not too much longer.

Where are you located?

Our worship services are held at Sunnycrest Church (see map

What kind or denomination is this church?

Answer.

What does Embrace believe?

We believe.

How does a person grow at Embrace?

Answer.

Why another church?

Great question.  At first, I had the same question.  There are already so many churches (big and small in every variety) and why another? As most know, Sioux Falls is quickly growing and much faster than the churches are.  Our hope is that this church wouldn't simply reshuffle Christians, but rather it would be filled with the normal unchurch-going people of Sioux Falls.  Drive around sometime Sunday morning (I know it's possible to go to church at another time of the week) and see how many people don't go to church.  It's not about attending a service... but it may be an indicator that there's still a need.

I grew up Lutheran or Catholic with liturgy and process.  Am I going to feel comfortable?

I believe you will.  We already have a range of people born, baptized, and raised Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, etc other than Methodist. Is there one "right church?" I don't believe so and as a result I would hope that everyone would feel very welcome regardless of their background.

I'll be open in saying that you won't find a typical traditional liturgical service, but you may find aspects of liturgy and tradition from time to time weaved into the services.

More about our affiliation and pastor's background.

Are you going to have your own building some day?

We mostly likely will (stress "some day") but who knows whether we'll build, buy, or rent it.

Does this church only plan to serve Sioux Falls?

No, it doesn't... our hope as in any church is to reach the ends of the  earth with the Good News... In a way by reaching "Sioux Falls", you are reaching the world.  Sioux Falls is no longer made up of just white middle class folks, but rather has people, languages, and cultures that represent the globe... the world.  By somehow reaching these folks... on our blocks, at our jobs, at our dinner tables... in a way we're reaching the world right here in Sioux Falls.  Not only this, but often a group will declare "we're going to reach the world"... by saying this, often times a group doesn't reach anything... our hope is not just have a catchy saying with the intent of never doing it... our hope is to actually follow through.

How does Embrace hope to reach the people of Sioux Falls?

One person at a time... we're still a new church with limited people and resources... but we have the ability just as any person or church to reach one person at a time.  More specific by serving, inviting, and loving people.  By somehow being a glimpse of God. Want to join us?

The answers to these questions and others are coming soon.

I'm concerned that as a plant church, you might not have all of the things I need (nursery, bible studies, counseling).  What type of resources do you have?

Is God a father, like my father, and not like a mother?
